Rebranding
GENKI CREPES
This project was to rebranding the logo for Genki Crepes which is friendly and lively grab and go dessert place in San Francisco.
Existing Identity
Genki Crepes currently use a solid orange as their main color. The color is too bright and outdate. They use the fuzzy font on the store entrance. A brushstroke of the “G” letter for the logo on the paper wrap. “G” stands for “Genki.” They also use Sans Serif font on the window and back of the paper wrap. The group of “crepe” words is in Serif’s typeface. Also, there is “Genki” in Japanese “YuanQi“ on the window. Genki Crepe is using too many typefaces on their products, logo, and description. It could lead to the brand mark
of the store is unrecognizable.
Original Pencil Sketch
All ideas inspiration are come from the word list. Most the logo is related to crepe
(product of this business) which is round shape. I also developed from the name
“GENKI” (both English and Japanese word) to logo sketches
Logo Iteration
I transferred my top 3 of my sketch into digital versions. These Early logo direction is simple and clean that people can easy to recognize the business’s brand name and its products. I chose "Genki" in a round shape as the version I would develop further because "Genki" in Romaji is readable; in the United States where English is the native language. The logo is readable and having round shape which is represent of crepes.
Logo Black & White
Typographic

I chose Nobel typeface for my logo design for type under my logo and the anchor type. Nobel type face is an geometric san serif. The capitalize “C” letter is round which is perfectly match with the shape of the logo
Color Iteration
Final Logo
I will choose the Brown and Orange color for my final version because it’s the color of crepe and Nutella which related to the company’s product.
